The naive, red balloon floats, confined.
An innocent child holds on.
The loosening of fingers on the tethered string,
One, two, then tree.
Not much holding on now.
Two little fingers, a daring act of defiance.
What if? Does the child dare?
Wrenched out, now soars to heaven.
One speck of red in the big blue.
Travels to other lands,
Free, then taken, then free again.
What if?
What if you just let go?
