I have looked the stars and wondered
Just what it is that lies before my eyes
Stars and galaxies stuck out of time
Specs of light the size of universes
I wish I could see them close
But they are too far away
Their light still reaches me
And shines brighter than
The Sun nearest to I
We know nothing of it
So we wish to know more
But for many they turn away
And ignore the skies hidden beauty
Hidden behind the haze of blue
You need only wait to see
The true size of the world we know
For our insignificance matters greatly
I hope that one day I will be one with it
Like the greatest stars before me
Which blazed in a nova of light
Just so they could leave behind matter
To make the world I know
I want to leave behind a legacy
Just as they do
Not a whimper
But a bang to hear and see
A nebula to remind all
That I stood here before
And though I was great
I left behind something greater
For that is the true beauty of the Universe
Creation through destruction
I wonder why people never see
All that is and what will be.
