Loitering in our favorite weather,
We remain dry amidst a dwelling
Of lively, dampened sprinklings
We observe the inhabitants, uninvolved;
All but we are swallowed, engulfed
By puddles of spouting gloom
Yet we together are unaffected
And as this brisk dew grabs hold of us
I'm no longer able to resist the release
Of my very own precipitant, external
Drops of rain fall, meeting the earth in splattered collision,
One for each time I've smiled
Merely thinking of you.

This piece was inspired by a friend. We shared a significant moment while standing in the rain in silence one day. A peaceful song called Porcelain played. It felt like something worth capturing.
