"The key to flying is to throw yourself at the ground and miss"~ Douglas Adams

The cruelty of Winter is like no other
It kills all
forcing it into the ground
to sleep or to die
to curl and wither
or hide until the sun returns with Spring in tow

...

The snow won't come
The frost shears the ground
Ice creeps up my legs
My breath clouds the room
but still, the snow does not come

Winter kills all.
It sends us to sleep with promises of Christmastime
of sparkling fields
warm fires
familial bonding

It sends us to sleep
and kills us all

The snow won't come
it won't hide the scarred earth
burn our eyes
blanket us in silence
whisper its beautiful, empty words
lull us into a slumber
and kill us all

Winter kills all
it has no mercy
no glory
no compassion
it offers only rest
beneath the ground
before it destroys us all

Winter kills all
destroys our lives
changes our hearts
burns our eyes
freezes our hands
tears the home apart

The snow won't end
falling in sheets
endless
glorious
deadly

Winter kills all
freezes the ground
chokes the plants
sends cars spinning through the blizzard

Winter kills all
it will bury us in time
burrow into our minds and drive us mad

Winter kills all
Winter killsall
Winterkillsall

and still the storm rages on...

Another attempt at poetry. I meant this to be a madness mantra of some sort. A simple poem about an individual who loses his mind as winter rages on.
