Christmas Dreams

I will always remember that night,
When it all seemed so quiet,
The fireplace rumbled like a hidden beast,
Glowing with warmth and light,
I tiptoed down the stairs to see,
What no other child has seen,
A large man in a red coat,
Standing beside the tree,
Setting down boxes and humming merrily,
I tiptoe back upstairs,
And settle back in bed,
For my Christmas dream has been achieved.
