"and kisses are a better faith than freedom"

I used to rely
on red murky seas
to define my strength.
No matter how many,
or how deep
I could hold my
breathe forever.
But then one canyon
ran too deep with red
and I realized that
I couldn't breathe anymore.
So, to this day I plant
flowers along those
riverbeds,
because flowers won't
let me drown.

"Sometimes people are beautiful. Not in looks. Not in what they say. Just in what they are.”

This poem speaks of perseverance and triumph. The words are brave and powerful. The opening lines whisk me away into the tangled world of my previous darkness, and it doesn’t set me free until the end. As someone stated before, the rhythm of the poem is good and your ability to capture emotions, effortlessly should not go un-noticed. Love it!

"Everything will be ok in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end."
