Fleeting Moments

The gentle laughter of
All the small children that
dance in the morning sun.
These wild little spirits
Flit to and fro bringing joy
To all that know sorrow and pain.
Those sweet little moments that
Never seem to last long enough
And are as fleeting as the children.
As their giggles fade so does the memory
Of my childhood friend. Who was taken
Away in one of the fleeting moments.
