Mimicked the crumbling of my dignity
Carbon monoxide filled the cool air
Suicidal thoughts filled my head

I tread water
Because I try to keep afloat
Except I’m getting tired
and
My muscles are cramping up
• • •
I wash upon the shore
Two months and two days later
• • •
No one noticed I had been gone
Until the blue of my veins
and
The blue of my lips
Was presented all at once
