Day Dreamers
I am from the yellow and orange flowers that grow in my yard which reminds me of the summers I spend in my Auntie’s garden, from the fresh plump tomatoes and eggplants. The soft and light scents of a clear summer morning.
I am from the small humming birds that sing soundly once they realized they found a save place. The delightful twitters of their tweets.
I am from a close knit family where we vacation together to get away from the reality which we call life, from the unfamiliar faces that I soon develop memories with. The strange and obscure memories of being together.
I am from a place where there is no sight of shining stars at night but the pure sight of darkness.
I am from the land of day dreamers, from a land where the supernatural seems so physical.
I am from the profound sighs that are used to diminish the chances of long cries, from the thought that no understands me as much as I don’t understand myself at times.
I am from ice cold sweet tea in a glass, from the moment it hits the right place when it’s hot.
I am from the cool water that grazes my fingertips, from the clear blue, sometimes murky green swimming pool.
I am from silence and observing. (Shy and timid)
I am from a secret place sheltered away where no one is allowed.
