Looking for love in a sinful place
Is like walking a desecrated land
In search of sweet rain’s taste

I’ve heard it said, “For true love?
Send real roses preserved in 24k gold”
I guess to stop the roses from growing old

But the greatest gift of all is eternal
Preserved in something more precious
That will never lose it’s hold

For true love God gave his only begotten Son,
That whosoever believeth in him should not perish,
But have everlasting life.

Yet we strive in a world comprised of
The lust of the flesh, and the
Lust of the eyes, and the pride of life

Looking for love in a sinful place
You’re left with nothing more
Than the synthetic mist you once called bliss

But true love is this: while we were still sinners,
Slithering serpents in a sea of lust,
Christ laid down his life and died for us
