We are gathered here today
We witness what they say
The lies of moments and of love
They weren't there when push came to shove
Now you're gone, it's too late
You've already entered the jaws of fate
They were blind, they couldn't see
That side you always showed to me
Now I'll never see it again
I've lost my closest friend
To hypocrisy with no end.

Death is not the only kind of loss. There is also the emotional link that can be severed. People should create relationships that are not based on where those friends will get you in life. Popularity is nothing compared to having someone there for you no matter what.
