Incurable
The hospitals won’t help a dying man
if he is suffocating in his own mind.
The doctors can’t save you
when they ask where it hurts
and you say
“everywhere.”
There is no prescription
for grief,
but we still swallow pills
and down another glass
of that brown liquid
because there may not be a medication for this sickness
but we will die looking for a cure.
