you were right there laying in your bed
daddy said you were too tired to say goodnight again
you were right there crying all alone
daddy said that you didn't need a hug cuz you were fine.

Mommy, i would of been there
Mommy... i would of stayed up all night with you
daddy he lied, and he knew just what he was doing
Mommy, if i would have known
i would of stayed right there with you.

you were there in the bathroom throwing up
daddy said everything was fine, you were just a little sick
you were right there with your hopeless eyes
daddy said you were just a little tired.

Mommy, i would of been there
Mommy... i would of stayed up all night with you
daddy he lied, and he knew just what he was doing
Mommy, if i would have known
i would of stayed right there with you.

daddy, he knew that you were depressed
he knew how much you were hurt, cuz he had caused it
Daddy, he knew that you were at your last breath
he didn't tell us...he let you leave us.
Mommy...i have forgiven you for leaving us that day
but i will never forgive daddy...he threw my mommy away.

that was so powerful and sad. The way that it came off almost as if a child was speaking made it even more tragic. i feel horrible saying that it was beautiful because the topic is so heartbreaking, but it was.
