"If you love what you do, you never work a day in your life"
"If i had to choose between breathing and loving you, i would use my last breath to say 'i love you'"

After the door shuts and the footsteps die
The darkness consumes me
I am engulfed by the raging thoughts of my mind
How can mere thoughts be so terrifying?
Listening I may hear nothing
Yet I know this fate is not far behind
There is no more preparing
Time has seemed to slip away
The powerful storm of my mind is growing
False fantasies fill the space
I grow weary as the days go on
How can someone so young endure so much?
How can someone so weak seem so strong?
I watch the trials he faces daily
The things he has been through amazes me
Some days I see the happiness in his eyes
Yet sometimes they are filled with pain
One of my greatest role models
A hole in my life I cannot endure
the prayers I say daily
The hugs I never want to let go
Pain I never want to experience
Through this I've seen him grow
I've felt the love of others around me
So as I watch him from day to day
I pray to God that his door never closes
And his footsteps in my heart never die

I wrote this poem about my dad. He is going through a hard time and writing this helped me express how it has effected me.
