Statue of Society

The statue of society stood high and tall
And watched over all
Its head of steel
To which others should show tribute and kneel
Its torso of copper was pierced and broken
Where conspiracy and bribery was spoken
The legs of iron rusted with raging corruption
As the people broke out into a revolution
And the base of dirt
Which the rice grows melts away
As the statue of society falls into dismay
