Barely audible footsteps find their way across the snow
Leaving behind a soft trail
Calico characteristics define this trickster
Feet black as skin
Back burned orange from harsh summers
Petite, attractive face.
And hypnotizing eyes,
The last thing prey sees

This defines a fox, but not just the animal. This could be an extended metaphor.
