When I was a child I believed
that inside the walls, there was
another world,
with other people,
and time did not crush down on them like it does on us.

And so I spoke to apartment plaster,
spun some stories, soft and silver,
for I was but a sliver
in a space so vast.


The author's comments:
The feeling of insignificance that inevitably engulfs the young explorer when she realizes the world as a whole is fantastically larger and more important than she is, in every way possible.
