An Experience of a Life Time
As I qualify for State Track,
My coach gives me
A pat on the back.

The day has come
However I do not run.

As I think about High Jump
My heart starts to thump.

The stadium is packed
There is no turning back.

I hear the roaring fans
I just tell myself
I can.

It is the moment I
Have waited for,
I know I have to give more
Jitters start to set in
But I shake them off,
So I can focus and win.

I approach the bar
Knowing I have come so far.

As I soar in the air
My emotions are still there.

I am with the best of the best
As I feel my heart
Beating in my chest.

It is an experience
I may never get again,
So I live it up the best that I can.
