My Fractured Soul
I saw a few old friends last night
I fell into a fit of tears
I could touch them
I could see them
They were real!
They could see my pain perfectly clear.
They didn’t hold judgment
Their eyes held no fear
I was accepted again that much blatantly obvious.
I hugged them all goodbye tight.
I couldn’t believe this moment was real
I took a glance over my shoulder.
I could see it in their eyes.
What they saw walking away last night was the fractured soul of who I used to be.
