"Never let the future disturb you. You will meet it, if you have to, with the same weapons of reason which today arm you against the present." --Marcus Aurelius

you did not wander
nor did you create
and gently,
let a flower of your own self push forth from your smooth skin
to permeate the world with a thrilling new scent
not once in my love did you stretch
your fingers or your heart
in search of something new, no,
in comfort you stayed,
content not to explore even the nearest of mysteries,
my own,
though I was yours to decipher you remained
to the end

behind my paintings and poetry and postcards from islands
less isolated than you are
I still keep your picture
as a reminder that I deserve more
than to be at rest in the arms of an open book
I deserve a pair of widescreen eyes
and a forever doubtful, wonderful mind
someone that began to reach for me
and never stopped,
restless in his need to know some piece of the world
outside of himself

though I was yours to decipher you remained
to the end

W.O.W Brilliant from start to finish. That guy is a d*uche. Seriously. I know what it's like to pour you heart to someone. To want to be loved. And yet, the other person remains "incurious to the end.:" It's one of the most heart-breaking feelings a human could feel. But like you say, you deserve better. And most people don't realize that when they're in a situation like this one. They remain forever with an incurious person to the end. And that never works out. So, I'm glad you did realize your worth. And didn't remain with an incurious person. Another epic poem by you.
