This isn't what I thought,
This isn't what I meant.
I thought we could just be friends,
But reality has bent.
I didn't mean for this
To happen, not really.
And now that it has,
I know what we're doing is silly.
This ship sailed long ago,
So what can be left but a lie?
But still here I am,
Staring after you with a sigh.
Stupid, stupid, I know it is,
But I can't give you up; I never could.
So what can I do now but wish
That what won't happen really would?

Inspiration can come in many forms, but mine mostly comes from aspects of my life, like this one. I often feel stupid and naive when I think about this person, but it isn't their doing, only mine. I doubt myself too much, and I know it's a flaw.
