As it was Dreamt

Unknown and unseen
all is not a part of reality.
Swiftly swirling colors
mix with her glittering dreams.

Cold fingers caress consciousness
sending shivers straight down her spine.
Unknown and unidentifiable
swiftly swirling sounds pierce the frozen fire holding her up.

Time stops to take a breath
that is acid on her fingers and toes.
Nothing and everything swiftly swirl around her
combining with the unknown and unseen.

Just in reach now
She watches the dream held in her heart.
Time stops to take a breath
giving her a chance to break free.

Shedding pain, loss, fear, and anger
her body feels hot and restless.
Unknown and unneeded
acid drips from her fingers and toes.

A silent scream pierces her open cage
as sweet sorrows echo through her chest.
Scorching ice holds onto her arm
as she watches the dream held in her heart.

Cold fingers clench consciousness
because her dream is just in reach now.
Acid drips on the hand of evil
giving her a chance to break free.

Swiftly swirling colors slowly shift
detaching from reality.
Her body feels hot and restless;
She stops to take a breath.

Sweet flavors waft to her nose
of strawberries and syrup.
Eyes ajar and ears straining,
comfort and warmth fill her body to the brim.

She is now given the chance to break free
from her self-inflicted captivity.
Able now and ready
to allow passion to guide her life.

I wrote this piece because it is similar to the situation I'm going through at this time. I have problems allowing myself to just let go and really go for what I want.
