White

All white as I gaze outdoors.
A crisp breeze clouding the panes
Silence that’s heard on the other side of the wall.
All white I see
Covering the trees and the rooftops
No motors sound as snow blankets the road
Telling people to stay in with family and friends.
“It’s a day off!” announcers boom over the radio.
And anyone age eight or eighteen can’t conceal a smile.

All white I feel
As the heaven’s dandruff falls
Coating my lashes
And numbing my body
As I copy an angels wings
Or build my own frosty.
My breath Penetrates the air,
And though my lungs are frosted and dry,
snow begs to be played in and always wins.

All white I look back at
As I’m entering home
receiving the cocoa to warm inside and out
And once again watch all white
Cover and make light gleam over hills
And trees and rooftops.
All white.
