Rainbows are Vandalism
I am everything and nothing.
The air that allows you to live undetected,
unseen by your living eyes.
Unless colored by vivid lights
painted across my body.
The sky is bright,
to joyous for this somber day.
I wish the light away.
No one stares at my beauty
that I project everyday.
Only when I’m vandalized
do people look up at me.
I shield them, blanket them,
protect them with such grace.
Yet I get no applause
unless the colors are clear as day.
I wish the light away.
