In June
Love
Is like a thick quilt
On a cold winter's night.
Comforting, enveloping
In rich layers of bliss,
And sanctuary
From the harsh and unwelcoming.
But when seized away,
Its former occupant remains
Cold, and melancholy,
Dreaming sadly,
Of the warmth once known.
