Be a leader, not a follower

If I told you all my secrets and asked you not to tell,
Would you keep it safe or to buyers would you sell?
If I showed you my scars and opened up about my past,
Would you be my light in the darkness, or like the others would you laugh?
If I gave you my body, mind, and soul, but most of all my heart,
Would you treasure everything we have, or everything we have would you disregard?
I'm at a crossroad, please be my guiding light
Prove to me you're different from the rest, so the rest won't be proven right.
You tell me you love me, but do you really mean it?
Because I somewhat love you too, if I must submit.
Don't tell me things you think I want to hear,
Because those words you may have used on other girls, so I know they're not sincere.
Just take my hand and say nothing, the silence is enough,
To shine and make pristine this diamond in the rough

This poem is about this guy that I know. I'm not too sure how my feelings are towards him, and vice versa.

Thank you so much! I think I know a song similar to that.

I really like the theme of your poem, it reminds me of one of my favorite songs, The High Road, by Three Days Grace. Just like your piece, it's about whether or not someone will help you find the "right way up".
