Dawn's Visitors
When dawn arrives to
sprinkle the night with light
the bird flies first to greet it with song
the squirrel crawls fast to make it in time
the flower blooms to show their beauty
the child awakens to play in it’s glow
the men and women ready for work,
But somewhere deep
far away from all the vibe
a small gritty family
is begging for food
and their father rises
to watch all of this
and he remembers
how things used to be.
