There is no Candle in The Darkness
I’m left alone in the dark,
Encased in darkness;
Light ceases to exist here.

I can hear the soft sound
Of water on the rocks,
But it grows into a roar.

I feel the movement of
Animals as they scurry past me,
Causing shivers to rise.

I taste the bitterness
In the air that tells me
Of the age of this prison.

I smell the sweet
Fragrance of the flowers
That grow in the dark.
I see only the night sky
Without the stars
Or the light of moon.

I’m left alone to wander
For there is no candle
In the darkness.

In this poem, I wanted to show what people fear in the darkness.

This is really dark. I totally get it though. I have felt like this before. Wonderful.
