What If I Ask Why
In and out, in and out
Without a doubt.
Doors open, then they close.
That's just how it goes.
But what happens if we choose
Whether to win, or to lose?
What if red, was really blue,
Would it change me or you?
And if the birds if the birds couldn't sing,
Could they even take wing?
I'm sure they could fly,
And I'd see them in the sky.
We can never know which way to go.
Though it seems mapmakers always know.
I know earthquakes make things shake.
But not why they never shake me awake.
Why are oceans always deep?
Same reason I always feel asleep.
What if no one could die?
Could I ask you why?
Why things are however they may be.
And would you answer me?
