December 25th
I remember it like it was yesterday
In a room in a house that long ago was familiar
There was a tree in that room in that vaguely familiar house
It smelled of car freshener and happiness
I hadn't yet thought to fell nostalgic
For it wasn't until now that I would realize
The holiday feeling of joy and selfish childishness would soon fade
Into a vague sad memory of a happier time of naivety and bliss
