I Thought
I thought
I thought you were different
One we could trust
I thought this would happen
I'd hoped I'd thought wrong
Your philosophy seemed
Such a good thing
Are good things so wrong
Or was it not to deep
And as you waded further
Did you begin to feel
The truth from the lie
Come undone?
Or was it as they say
Bitter sweet
To let desire guide you
For I find it ironic
That one such as you could
Leave us confused lost broken
For only if simplistic wasn't
So close to your heart.
You taught us we couldn't
Depend on your faith
You taught us right
But didn't
From the start
Hope doesn't do much
For me or anyone
On a long much trod sad trail.
I thought wrong .
