Monster Within
Monsters rise in you and scare me to death; I wish that I could catch my breath.
The sweet, nice guy disappears; I have to stay strong and fight back the tears.
I hide my fear all too well, even God himself can’t tell.
Your aura of danger sets the mood; this emotion makes your common sense skewed.
When you’re like this there’s nowhere to hide, I want to help…I want to cry.
I want to help him, I truly do. But this fright inside holds me from my cue.
The darkness fades away, but far from reach is where I’ll stay.
The same nice guy makes his return, but my terror continues to burn.
