The Lights
Lights in the distance
They fade in and out
They shine like stars
They speak of hope
They invite all who see them to come closer
They shine so bright
That no one can see
What lies beyond them
But they bring hope to all who see
For the place from which the lights are seen
Is dark and forsaken
But all must enter it
Though not all will see
The lights that bring hope
To most of humanity
Those who can see them
Will strive to get close
And eventually will find the source
And reason for their hope
But those who cannot see them
Will wander lost, confused
They will not see how it is possible
To get themselves out
So few of these will make it out
So few will get beyond
Truly many will die here
For they cannot see hope
