Blanket

so much depends upon
the ragged child's
blanket
swollen with tears and
fears of the
past
the stuffing is gone
the fabric is
thin
but she’ll still hold
it and remember
when
the only comfort was
the tan rosed
blanket
so much depends upon
that ripped loved
blanket
hope fills the holes
that cover the
surface
never left her side
did that silly
blanket
till one day it
was gone her
mother’s
face to, she did
not know how
much
she depended on her
silly child's
blanket
