Sleep

Take away the pain,
take away life's strain.
I can not live with this anymore,
every heartbreak is worse than before.
I want emotional suffering to end,
so now sleep has become my friend.
It takes away the pain for a little while,
leaving my soul with a smile.
But when i wake the pain is still the same,
nothing lost, nothing gained.
