My heart of Chocolate
3 cups of flour
3/4 cup of sugar
1/2 cup of vegetable oil
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1 teaspoon of baking powder
As I blend the chocolate,
I think of how it is meant to mend my heart,
That you smashed into small pieces,
As easily as the egg shells.
I put in flour and sugar,
Trying to make the batter stronger,
Think of all the harm you brought me,
Not the smile on your face.
Add the oil and vanilla,
Smooth out the bumps,
I look my best,
Pretend I don't even know who you are.
Finally the soda and powder,
Make them rise like my friends do to me,
You are my heart fix,
Chocolate brownies help heal a young girl's soul.
