Wheezingly Yours

Cough, cough. Wheeze, wheeze. I can’t breathe.
I can see the light. I can almost reach it.
Cough, wheeze, and try to breathe.
Pat my back, clear my lungs. Do something to help me.
I breathe in wheezes so loud it makes you flinch.
A puff of this, an inhalation of that
Still not working. Nothing helps.
The world is spinning, my muscles are aching and this sound I’m making is annoying.
I just want to breathe like a normal person.
