Gummy Bears and Roses
Red was your favorite color
It was the color of blood, the heart, gummy bears, and roses
My favorite color was green
It was the color of peace, your favorite shirt, gummy bears, and the stems of roses
One night, your red heart was beating wildly
In your chest covered by your favorite green shirt
You had a red rose in one hand
Green and red gummy bears in the other
To give to me
To signify our sweet, forever love
But it ended that night
You left forever
Dark, red blood dipped down your chest
Making your green shirt turn brown and ugly
Making my tears fall in the red petals of the rose
Down the green stem, all the way to your dead body
Shot and gone from this world
Into another, a peaceful and safer one
I visited your grave today
And left gummy bears and roses
To signify I would still love you forever after
