Pencil Sharpener
The shavings of my life
The bleakness to the soul
Lacerated as if with a knife
A load no one can truly hold
Fire started beneath the heart
Ablaze you may not see
Pain day and night
Devours right through me
Every word not said
Gathers into constraint
Stuffing me with lead
Soon to be faint
Emotions pour with tears a flow
Collapsing to the floor
Revive myself from the blow
Slowly limp to the door
The shavings of my life
The bleakness to the soul
Lacerated as if with a knife
A load no one can truly hold
