Last Summer
I promise I’ll always remember last summer
Laying by your dock with the water- so shining-so bright
Our memories so happy and so light
Your smell your taste your touch
Left me senseless and made me feel that you in my life was a must
I’ll remember this summer as having spent is care free
I’ll remember you and me happy and in love like some buzzing bees
What I recall most is the warnings, the signs and the trials
That we shouldn’t be together
Sneaking around under my mother’s watchful eye
And always having to listen to my brothers annoyed sigh
A small part of my will remember the fights
Where I could stay up and cry literally every night
But mostly, I’ll remember being happy
And feeling free
Filled with glee, because in the end it was just you and me
