Farewell
I have but one word for you,
Goodbye.
Farewell, you, with which the best days of my life were spent.
You, who always found a way to bring both edges of my lips to my ears,
Whenever you tried.
You; the only one who knew
Just what to say,
To make me feel better.
Farewell, you, who I thought was one-hundred percent
Perfect. Not just perfect for me. But
Perfect. In every way. When you couldn’t help yourself but convince me
That I’m the only one. When you
Used to take time out of your day to make me feel
Loved. Loved, for the first time. When you
Used to be my only true friend.
True. True, as true as the air that I breathe, as true as the
Lie of love.
Farewell, you, who I would have done anything for.
Anything. Anything; lie for, love for, live for.
You, who made my dreams truth for awhile.
A wonderful, short while.
The while, that I’ll miss for
Eternity. And though eternity lasts forever,
So will that wonderful, short while.
The while, where all I needed was you, and all you needed was
Me. Me; Stupid, silly me, who took the time to try to make you happy.
Tried. And succeeded, for a while.
A wonderful, short while.
Farewell, you, who I don’t know anymore.
You, who I would have swam across the seven seas for.
Seas. Seas. All I see when I try to find who you were,
is the sea of tears that lies at the bottom of my feet.
You, who I would have done anything for.
Anything. Anything; Tell you things I’ve told no one before.
No one. No one, is the thought that pierces my mind when I try to picture you.
You, who made all my deepest dreams come true.
For a short while.
A wonderful, short while.
