Eternal Night
Alone wallowing in sorrow
Searching for a thought to follow
Drifting in the streets of horror
Her tinkling laugh echoes
Her twinkling eyes glisten
Her golden ears listen
As I sit in my room wishing
In the everlasting night
Where only the inner light shines
And shadows meet and intertwine
Lost in the beauty’s intricate rhyme
Where the secrets are hidden in signs
She is there; yet she is not
Staring into the abyss of the mirror
I reflect on reflecting
About how the search itself
Is better than finding
And her absence perhaps
Is her presence haunting
But her presence itself will appear
The day that the Seer will forget fear.
