Forgotten Dreams

An ocean lies between us
or so it seems,
but really it's just
a sea of forgotten dreams.
All I had hoped
and all I had dreamed
once solid as soap
vanished to steam.
One moment there
the next not,
but what do I care
if they're never caught?
It took one look at you
to know you're the one.
Only one look
and my dreams were done.
But now I see
what could have been,
now I see
it's without you men.
An ocean lies between us
or so it seems,
but really it's just
a sea of unforgotten dreams.
