Howling

I howl to the moon
expecting an answer
like the wolf
chained to the earth

My wounds never heal
when burned in my skull
my wounds are always fresh

Though I try to reach my goals
my chain is always there
my final breath is not for death
but in fear of my demonic soul

the chain is not within sight
but instead within the mind
the fear of the grasp you cannot fight
because it is that which you cannot find

I try to reach
after the never sought
things beyond
human thought

my mind is a mystery
a maze to a vast degree
for the chain I cannot find
keeps me howling
howling at the moon

I just got a dog and i found myself an emotional wreck when she killed one of my two birds and that is what i based it off of.
