My hair is brown.
Yours too.
My skin is ebony.
Yours too.
My body is petite.
Yours too.
My dress is plain.
Yours too.
My ribbon is black.
Yours too.
My boyfriend kisses me.
I mean, you.
Perhaps, he thought
That I was you...

Well, diversity is important. It’s not actually what keeps us from each other. What keeps us from each other is discrimination. Without diversity, nothing would be special and unique. Everything would seem… dead, wouldn’t it?

~I WILL NOT fade into oblivion , and become less than
a distant memory.~

Woah , this was great!

I totally got into it , and it was just a small poem! Good work on the meaning of it , and I enjoyed the different ending. Love it !

"Write what you love, write what you care about, because sometimes, it's the easiest way to be heard."

Oh! I didn't get this until I read it a second time. I love the message behind it. You strung it in so subtly, but I think that made a very good effect. I completely agree with you. :)

Wow, this is kinda deep; I agree with the former comment in saying that the twist at the end was very interesting, I can't say much else. Great poem :)

Lovely twist at the end! It really packs a punch. This almost felt like one of those songs little girls sing for jumprope or double dutch, until the end when it took a more mature turn

Hmmm, very interesting! I like the way you presented your ideas in a simple way without hammering them into the reader.

(Yea, I know, it's kind of deep, but I kind of dig it.))

I really like this poem. The way it twists your brain around- especially at the end. Good job! :)
