Without That Connection
All my friends have this connection
With God
They’re Jewish, or Muslim, or Christian
But they all have someone
“Up there”
Apparently I’m Catholic
The only thing that makes me that way is that I was baptized
A mother that doesn’t believe in God
A father who’s all too quiet about his opinions
And I’m left without the guidance that all others seek
I have no one
I want to go to go to those holy temples that are visited every weekend
To explore religion
How can I ask my parents though
To drop me off at a mosque
Or at a synagogue
How can I even ask them to leave me at a church
Apparently I’m Catholic
But I’m without that connection
Does that make me a fake
Or just lost
