Popular Girl
You know her.
She is,
Pretty,
Smart,
Popular.
Everything you’ve always wanted.
The person you’ve always worshiped.
She struts down the hallway,
People stare.
Heads turn.
She’s who every girl,
Wants to be.
A plastic smile spreads across her face,
Her designer purse,
Slung across her shoulder.
You wonder.
What’s it like to be in her skin?
Not all it seems,
Really.
You covet her gold hair,
Her stilettos,
Her grades,
Her friends.
You want her charm,
Her laugh,
Her outgoingness.
You’d give everything,
To be her.
But once those shades,
That makeup,
That hard shell,
Is off,
You’ll realize,
She’s just,
A normal girl.
