"Where to, Miss?"
"To the stars."

I’ve felt things changing before
And I feel them changing now
At the moment, I’m not quite sure
How they’re changing
It’s more subtle, this time
Than times before

The change isn’t that I want to be alone
But that I’m comfortable alone
My thoughts haunt me from afar
On blissful days I can banish them entirely
Today is one of those days

I’m actually happy
Just because of simple things
An earbud offered in friendship
A peaceful lunch with my book and I
Taking pleasure in life as it is
And not worrying about the future

Maybe things aren’t what they seem
It’s possible the friendship was insincere
And possible that a catastrophe will befall me
As soon as I finish the book

But happiness
True happiness
Isn’t worrying about the future
Or how people perceive you
It’s about enjoying each breath you take
And all the joys that come with that breath

Knowing that
I banish treacherous thoughts entirely
For now

Right now
That’s good enough

May the sun always shine on your windowpane; May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain; May the hand of a friend always be near you; May God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.

Wow excellent job. This poem really touches home and shows us that it isnt about the big picture but, the little pieces that make it. You have great wording within this piece and a lot of symbolism. I loved every part of this poem and the entire thing as a whole. Amazing job!

Thank you ever so much. My day just got a thousand times better (even though it's already afternoon!).

My friends are the inspiration for this; even though I won't be seeing them half as often as I used to, I still appreciate the influence they've had on my life.

"If you must mount the gallows, give a coin to the headman, a jest to the crowd, and meet the drop with a smile on your lips."

Gonna quote your ending, to say that this poem is Beyond being good enough. it was great, and i loved this part , "It’s about enjoying each breath you take
And all the joys that come with that breath" because it is so true. great job, and i look forward to reading more.

Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, but learning to dance in the rain.

I love this poem. I have the exact same views and I feel like I could have written this just because i agree with it, you know what i mean? It reminds me of the No Matter How Long You Search for Perfect poem you read of mine! Great usage of words, too. Good JOB!

Amazing. I love the strong ending and it flowed really good for me. :)
