Flying Away
A thousand times,
I have heard your name.
And each time
I break a little.
I cannot understand,
what has changed,
then to now.
I remember how
we both sat in cages,
hanging in the air.
For a second,
and another
there was only
you and me.
Arms streched through the bars
fingers barely touching.
A gush of wind flew us apart
And that
was that.
How did you
break free
Wings spread,
you took a leap
and soared through the sky.
And I stared in momentary horror
as you flew away.
