Neglected Beauty
With eyes of calm and eerie green,
A peace which few have ever seen,
A peace so soon and irrevocably undone
The land about is torn apart,
Houses toppled and dark,
A sight ne’er to be unseen
A force of such great beauty,
A force of such great fear,
The storm past, again is drawing near
In shadows of forever,
The darkness soon to come,
This light will shine forever in the mind
The tortured hearts of those between of her wicked paths
Know now to fear Mother Nature’s scorn
This world although not of ash,
Asunder, it is clearly torn
The whirling winds return to us,
Cutting the serenity that never was.
